Zesty Orange Smoothies

Revitalize your entire immune system with a few exotic orange smoothies.

Oranges are rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin B, calcium, potassium, folate, potassium and a type of flavanone, known as herperidin. Vitamin C is the body's main water soluble anti-oxidant and is needed to protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. Vitamin C intake has been associated with reduced risks of colon cancer. Oranges have been shown to reduce blood pressure levels and cholesterol and the risk of heart diseases due to the presence of its flavanone.

In general, fruits high in citrus help the body to fight off colds, reduce the risk of various types of cancers and protects the skin as you age to keep you looking fresh and young.

Wow and this is only the tip of the iceberg. You can learn more about the health benefits of oranges here. You know though, if you want all of these benefits you will have to use fresh, organic oranges. Orange juices for the store and vitamin supplements just simply can't match up to the goodness found in a whole organic orange.. Choose organic.

Note: To get the most out of your oranges, especially the fibre, peel the orange but leave most of the white part intact. Cut the oranges into quarters, pluck out the seeds then toss them into the blender.... and that's how you make the most nutritious smoothie possible.
